BPAL Halloween update. Wee!
There about 6 things I'm definitely going to try. Two of them I may end up with more than one bottle. We'll see. There are a couple more I'd like to smell but not enough to buy a whole bottle since I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to wear them.

On All Saints Day, Spanish families visit their loved ones in the cemeteries, keeping vigil throughout the evening, saying prayers for the dead. Family burial plots are cleaned and tended, and graves are adorned with gladiolas, chrysanthemums, and roses. Bone-shaped pastries called Saint's Bones, or the Bones of the Holy, are baked and shared in honor of the souls in Purgatory, and to remind us of those who no longer share our repast, but with whom we one day hope to be reunited with again.

Orange-glazed cake, dotted with anise seed, and filled with custard, set beside a bouquet of celebratory funeral flowers.

This one has potential. I'm not so sure about the funeral flowers but I'm willing to give it a try. If one gets bumped though, this will probably be it.

Terminal sugar rush. A little goblin's candy bag, upended.

Smushed candy corn, rock candy dust, marshmallow gunk, strawberry goo, spun blue sugar, globs of salt water taffy, and lint.

This one, if it's good, I will probably order a second bottle of. Though, realistically, I know that I probably have enough BPAL to last me my whole life.

Vibrant with the joy and sweetness of life in death! A blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits.

I loved this last year so I'll get a least one bottle this year. If I love this year's as much, perhaps a second.

From the Pumpkin Patch:

Pumpkin with mango, persimmon, coconut, and myrrh.

Pumpkin with pink grapefruit, lemon verbena, yuzu, lime, parsley, and mint.

The mint might throw this one off for me, though the rest of it sounds really nice.

Pumpkin with cranberry, strawberry, red musk, red rose, rosehip, frankincense, fig, jasmine, and carnation.

The flower notes in this might not suit me either but these pumpkin blends are usually so fabulous it might just work.

From the Sleepy Hollow subseries:

Another of his sources of fearful pleasure was, to pass long winter evenings with the old Dutch wives, as they sat spinning by the fire, with a row of apples roasting and spluttering along the hearth, and listen to their marvelous tales of ghosts and goblins, and haunted fields, and haunted brooks, and haunted bridges, and haunted houses, and particularly of the headless horseman, or galloping Hessian of the Hollow, as they sometimes called him. He would delight them equally by his anecdotes of witchcraft, and of the direful omens and portentous sights and sounds in the air, which prevailed in the earlier times of Connecticut; and would frighten them woefully with speculations upon comets and shooting stars; and with the alarming fact that the world did absolutely turn round, and that they were half the time topsy-turvy!

Dried orange peels floating in simmering cider, roasted apples, smoldering firewood, chimney smoke, sassafras beer, warm hawthorn wood, and oakmoss.

I really need to sell some of the stuff I don't want. I have a lot of LEs that I could get photos and descriptions of if anyone had an interest. Ebaying is so iffy and I'm intimidated by the bpal boards. Which is why I still have most of it.

You should get in touch with my friend Piwacket (her LJ name). She is way into BPAL and may be able to guide you through the process of unloading.

When I have enough time, I'll go through my stash and start making lists of things. It's going to take some time. I have a ton.

hi there!

weetatertot suggested I come here and read. I &hearts BPAL too.

I'm actually going to be doing a decant circle for most of the halloween blends (one on the forum and one on livejournal) so if you let me know what you're interested in trying, I can make sure I add them into the circle; that way you can try them, without having to invest in a whole bottle.

let me know what you're interested in selling, I might have an interest in them :)

oh, and I just friended you also, hope you don't mind!

I'm looking to test all these I listed here, with the exception of Sugar Skull, which I liked so much last year that I'm just going to order.

So I would definitely be up for joining a circle, provided I'd still have enough time to order the things I liked after trying them out.

you would definitely have time to order bottles after if you like the decants. The Halloween blends will be available until November 15th, and I'm going to order the bottles for the decant circles as soon as they're full or 2 weeks from now, whichever comes first. So you would have the decants in your hands before the end of September.

the circle is here: http://community.livejournal.com/bpalcircles/257.html

if you want to take a look.

There are also three on your list that I wanted to smell but didn't want very much of. Any chance that you could send along a few drops of each? Seems like a waste to have even a whole imp of something I'll be certain to not want to wear. I would be happy to supply the empty vials.

If not, that's cool too.

that's fine. I'm going to be ordering about 200 more vials next week, so I'll have lots of extra. just let me know about the sniffies separately (like here or my regular journal) so that everyone else doesn't want extra sniffies too ;)

Pumpkin 2, Pumpkin 4 & John Barleycorn.

Also, I'll work on getting together my list of stuff I don't want this week sometime. Hopefully. I have waaay too much stuff so I'm sure it will take me a while.
