Biscuit's thing lately is to jump up on my shoulder as I'm scooping the litter box, purr loudly, and lick my hair. He really seems to dig it. So We were in the pink bathroom and I crouched down (ok squatted, but are these two words pretty equal because if they are, squatted is definitely going to be replaced by crouched) and saw Biscuit gearing up to leap to my shoulder. I tipped down that way just a little to make it easier for him, also lessening the chances that he would feel like he needed to use claws to get up there. Fortunately for me he was able to just lightly hop up. Trust me on that lucky part. The claws are no fun.
He then proceeded to kind of wrap himself around me head, laying across my shoulders, so his butt was on one and his head was next to my right ear. Then he purred in my ear and licked my hair. Sometimes (and he did this this morning too) he will switch sides and lay across the other way. When I was done cleaning the litter box, I rose so he was a little higher than the counter and tipped my shoulder down. This is the best and easiest way to remove him, once again avoiding the claws. Then I stood up. And this is right about where what I thought I was going to be writing changed to what I am writing now.
Right in front of me the left side door to the wooden medicine cabinet was open. (this sounds so dumb when I see it written)
I hope that I simply did not notice this when I walked in the room (I am sleepy). I also hope that Steve will be able to tell me that he was the one who opened the cabinet door doing something last night and forgot to close it. But I can't see how I would not have noticed it open, were it open when I went in there. This spooks me a little! So I have decided to not go down to the basement (already dark and a little spooky in the morning).
